Hailing from Brooklyn, sisters Takara & Nimai Larson would have you believe they were in the jungles of India. 

Within the endless droves of same bands following the same trends, or promoting themselves through ridiculous gimmicks, Prince Rama remains truly unique. It is the Indian inspired synth melodies, the tribal-esque drums and the gaps between English and a language original to singer Takara. Trust Now, although very experimental, does not come off pretentious and songs like "Rest In Peace" and "Summer of Love" are incredibly fun and danceable. Raised Hare Krishna, the sisters vocals often sound prayer like or ritualistic with musicality that reflects incredible bliss and a search for Nirvana. Although Trust Now is only six tracks, it offers much to the ear. These five album veterans are a highlight of 2011 and are definitely worth a listen.
