How To: Care For Your Denim

Wash As Little As Possible

Sounds gross, we know. But your jeans (and wallet) will thank you! By washing as little as once a month, you will be able to prolong any fading that is bound to happen when using the washing machine.

Pro Tip: To freshen up your jeans without washing, a quick spot clean will do the trick! Use a toothbrush and mild detergent and rinse with lukewarm water

Turn Inside Out & Zip-Up

Taking the extra few seconds required to turn your jeans inside out will help preserve the denim dye. By doing up the zipper, you won’t have to worry about it getting caught on other fabrics. Trust us, these two simple tips are a game changer.

Wash in Cold Water

Not only is this tip eco-friendly, it’s great for your jeans - a win win! Washing in cold water on a gentle cycle will help maintain the colour of your denim, plus it protects against shrinkage.

Hang To Dry

We are guilty of putting our jeans in the dryer for the convenience factor, but it turns out you’re only causing the material to stretch out and fade over time. By hanging to dry, you are able to significantly increase your denim’s lifespan. Be sure to avoid direct sunlight when hanging out to dry!

Pro Tip: To soften up your jeans after they’ve been hung out to dry, place them in the dryer for a few minutes on low heat.

Re-Adjust with Care

When going to readjust your jeans, it is recommended that you pull from the waistband. Resist the urge to use the belt loops, as that will result in stretching and possible ripping, both things we want to avoid when it comes to our beloved denim.
